Dr. Noora Hamad Al-Qahtani is the Acting Head of the Central Lab Unit and a Research Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Qatar University. She earned her BSc in Physics and Biomedical Sciences from Qatar University in 2008, followed by MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield and Imperial College London in 2015 and 2020, respectively. Dr. Al-Qahtani is the first Qatari female to hold a PhD in corrosion. With over 15 years of experience in academia and industry, her research focuses on corrosion, catalysis, fuel cells, water treatment, and waste recycling.

Prof. Weon Ho Shin, Ph.D., born on August 12, 1982, in Busan, Republic of Korea, is a distinguished researcher and educator in the field of materials science and engineering. His expertise spans nanostructured materials, grain boundary engineering, lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, supercapacitors, thermoelectric materials, carbon nanostructures, and 2D materials. He is currently a Professor at Kwangwoon University, contributing significantly to the advancement of materials science and engineering through his research, teaching, and academic leadership.

Prof. Shin completed his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2004, 2006, and 2011, respectively.
