Dr. Noora Hamad Al-Qahtani is the Acting Head of the Central Lab Unit and a Research Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Qatar University. She earned her BSc in Physics and Biomedical Sciences from Qatar University in 2008, followed by MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield and Imperial College London in 2015 and 2020, respectively. Dr. Al-Qahtani is the first Qatari female to hold a PhD in corrosion. With over 15 years of experience in academia and industry, her research focuses on corrosion, catalysis, fuel cells, water treatment, and waste recycling.

Dr. Al-Qahtani’s academic journey includes a BSc in Physics and Biomedical Sciences from Qatar University, an MSc in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London. Her doctoral research investigated the mechanisms and kinetics of steel corrosion and sulfide scale formation in sour media.
