Magdalena Kohout-Diaz’s academic foundation is rooted in educational sciences and philosophy. Her master’s thesis on Comenius, the “father of the universal art of teaching everything to everyone,” highlights her long-standing dedication to education. She joined the Cultures, Education, Societies Laboratory (L.A.C.E.S.) in 2003 as a doctoral student, marking the beginning of her extensive academic career.

Prof. Kohout-Diaz’s research focuses on inclusive education and educational accessibility to diversity. Her work emphasizes comparative studies of school climate and violence in Central and Balkan Europe, aiming to identify effective actions for educational challenges. Key themes in her research include globalized paradigms of inclusive education, mental health in education, and the professionalization of teachers as interpreters of diversity.

Magdalena Kohout-Diaz has received various recognitions for her contributions to education. She co-organized the first ISATT conference in France in 2022 and now serves as the ISATT national representative for France. With over 25 years in higher education, Prof. Kohout-Diaz has held numerous roles in teacher training for primary, middle, and high school educators. She has also trained principal education advisors and educational engineers. Her career includes 13 years as a certified professor of philosophy and eight years as an Associate Professor in educational sciences before becoming a full professor in 2018.
