Sushmita Sarkar is an Assistant Professor specializing in Solar PV Arrays with 12 years of experience. She holds a Master’s in Power and Energy System and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Power and Energy Systems from VTU. Sushmita has guided 24 projects at the UG/PG level and has been awarded three times for the best project. Her research focuses on Solar PV network installation standards, cost estimation guidelines for smart cities, designing and fault analysis of charge controllers for PV systems, novel modular LS-SVM based regression models for prediction of solar power, IoT-based wireless sensor networks for condition monitoring of low-power rooftop PV panels, and signature analysis of electrical faults in standalone PV systems with storage. She has also explored the impact of pollutants on solar panel performance in tropical countries.
