Pedro Terrero | Agricultural | Best Researcher Award

Investigador Agropecuario | INIAP | Ecuador

Pedro Isaias Terrero Yepez is an Agricultural Engineer and Agronomy expert specializing in Sustainable Agricultural Production with extensive experience in tropical crop protection, biological control, and phytosanitary management. He leads the Banana, Plantain, and Other Musaceae Program at the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias, directing international research collaborations under FONTAGRO to enhance crop resilience and sustainability. His work focuses on developing integrated management systems for tropical crops, emphasizing biological control, pathogen resistance, and soil health improvement. Through his research on diseases such as Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense and moko, he integrates molecular diagnostics with field-based monitoring to strengthen agricultural biosecurity. His contributions extend to designing eco-efficient production systems, promoting farmer engagement, and implementing evidence-based solutions that support climate-resilient agriculture. Combining research, innovation, and field application, his work significantly advances sustainable crop production and phytosanitary preparedness in tropical agricultural systems.

Mrs.Hamideh Hassannezhaddivkolaei | Agricultural and Biological Sciences | Best Researcher Award

Mrs.Hamideh Hassannezhaddivkolaei | University of Murcia | Spain

Mrs. Hamideh Hassannezhaddivkolaei is an Iranian researcher and Ph.D. candidate in Biodiversity and Environmental Management at the University of Murcia, Spain. Passionate about plant systematics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, she combines over five years of teaching experience with advanced research skills. Her work focuses on understanding plant biodiversity through genomic approaches, including chloroplast genome sequencing of mosses such as Tortula acaulon, and contributing to conservation biology. She is skilled in laboratory techniques like DNA extraction, PCR, and RAPD markers, and proficient in bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, Geneious, MEGA, SPAdes, and R. Hamideh holds an M.Sc. in Plant Biology (Systematics–Ecology) and a B.Sc. in General Biology from the University of Mazandaran, Iran, where her thesis on the biosystematics of Glycyrrhiza species earned an A+ distinction. She has taught biology and science at Allameh Helli Free Academic Institute and Mehre Ofogh Koshan Private School in Iran, developing engaging lessons and fostering environmental awareness among students. Multilingual in Persian, English, and intermediate Spanish, she actively participates in international collaborations. Her research interests span plant systematics, phylogenetics, and molecular evolution, aiming to elucidate evolutionary relationships and genetic diversity, particularly in bryophytes and angiosperms of the Hyrcanian forests and Mediterranean ecosystems. She integrates bioinformatics pipelines (FastQC, Trimmomatic, IRSCOP, Chlorobox) with statistical approaches in R to analyze genomic data. Recognized for her innovative teaching and research excellence, Hamideh has received commendations for Olympiad training, presented at national conferences, and earned a place in the competitive Ph.D. program at the University of Murcia. Her ultimate goal is to combine genomics and conservation strategies to preserve endangered plant species and address climate change impacts on biodiversity.
