Dr. Sathish holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University, which he was awarded in 2016. His doctoral research focused on the experimental investigation and optimization of process parameters in biogas generation. He also holds a Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from Annamalai University. Dr. Sathish began his academic career as an Assistant Professor and quickly rose to leadership positions. He served as Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering at Vels University, Chennai, and held teaching positions at K.K.C Engineering College. Between 2017 and 2020, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hindustan University. Since May 2020, he has been a faculty member in the Aerospace Engineering Department at HITS, where he contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research supervision. His experience spans mechanical, automobile, and aerospace engineering disciplines, reflecting his versatile academic capabilities.
Research Interests
Dr. Sathish’s core research interests lie in Biomass and Bio-Energy Technology, Alternative Fuels, and Thermal System Optimization. He has actively worked on projects involving solar cookers, hydrogen combustion, and centrifugal compressor analysis using CFD. His M.Tech project involved the performance analysis of a solar cooker using Ansys, showcasing his early inclination toward simulation-based energy research. His Ph.D. work explored biogas generation processes, a theme he continues to develop through patented technologies and international collaborations. He has also contributed to studies on UAV aerodynamics, rotating diffusers, and annular combustion systems, demonstrating a broad and evolving research portfolio.
Honors
Dr. Sathish has been recognized with the Young Researcher Award by Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science during its annual academic celebrations. He has completed government-supported MOOC programs, including the SWAYAM course on Bioenergy and Fuels, enhancing his knowledge in renewable technologies.
